Cougal Park is 6.4km south of the Qld/NSW border crossing at Richmond gap, and 36km north of Kyogle with sealed roads all the way.
The Lions Tourist Road was built between 1971 & 1975 by the Lions Clubs of Beaudesert and Kyogle, to create a more direct route to Brisbane. The road is still funded by donations from the donation box located at the border.
Telstra Next G (3G) is the only Mobile phone coverage in the area.

Some Navigation aids recognize Lions Road some do not. Some think it is an extension of Running Creek Road in Queensland, which ends at the Border. There could be some navigation aids which still show this, however, most have been corrected.
Note: Due to the replacement of six bridges on Grady’s Creek Road and the Lions Road, there will be changes to traffic conditions. Grady’s Creek Road will be open for the Christmas / New Year period.
The road from the North to Cougal Park B&B is open. Contact us about the detour to the South of us.
